Winter is just around the corner and Bischofshofen is gearing up for the coming winter season. This is nothing unusual, but Bischofshofen is gearing up for the onslaught of ski tourers. Bischofshofen has recognized the trend and is increasingly focusing on this target group in the future. Bischofshofen at the foot of the Hochkönig is the central starting point for a whole range of alpine and high alpine ski tours and two ski routes are currently being signposted to offer beginners the opportunity to go ski touring. The signposting system developed by ARGE Ski Mountaineering, which is already in use in other regions, is being used. The signposting by the Bischofshofen mountain rescue service is almost complete. Now it’s just a matter of waiting for the first snow to tackle the two tours “Knappensteig-Mosott” and the “Hochkeil”. Further ski routes are planned for the course of the season.
