Last autumn, the ILE Frankenpfalz in the Fichtelgebirge region implemented the innovative “Leisure Information System” project together with numerous regional partners. The aim was to promote the region’s hiking and cycling trails in a targeted manner and thus further increase the attractiveness of day tourism.

As part of the project, green-solutions made a significant contribution to its implementation: new, clearly laid out folding maps were developed for each municipality, 18 modern hiking and cycling route boards were erected and the entire range of leisure activities was made available digitally.

A particular highlight of the project was the redesign of the “Old Trade Route” as a themed hiking trail. Along the route, ten informative reading panels now provide exciting insights into historical features such as stone crosses and other cultural and historical treasures.

This project combines tradition and modernity and strengthens the region as an attractive destination for nature and culture enthusiasts.
