The Altmühltal Nature Park is expanding its digital management and is now using the tourinfra platform to manage hiking trail signposting throughout the nature park. With this step, the nature park is successfully integrating the existing solution for cycle paths into the area of hiking trails and is thus relying on forward-looking, standardized infrastructure management.
The focus is on the famous Altmühltal Panorama Trailwhich has been the region’s flagship since its opening in 2005. The 200-kilometre route delights hiking tourists and day visitors alike and has established itself as a quality benchmark for other routes. Today, the Altmühltal Panorama Trail is one of the best-known and most popular hiking routes in Germany.
With the introduction of tourinfra, the entire infrastructure surrounding the hiking trails is now centrally maintained, serviced and further developed. The complete product range from green-solutions is used for this:
-
Route and infrastructure solutions for efficient signposting management
-
Quality management (QM), which enables seamless organization on the go thanks to the integration of the mobile app tourinfra mobil (available for iOS and Android).
This digital strategy strengthens the Altmühltal Nature Park as a modern hiking region and offers visitors an even higher quality experience – whether on a short day trip or an extended hiking vacation.
The surrounding districts will also benefit from the initiative, as the extensions planned as part of the project will also be available to them shortly. The district of Kelheim is already working on the implementation of the hiking signage. The planners are using tourinfra’s planning tool and the integrated automatic signage system to generate the print templates. Once planning is complete, the print templates are sent directly to the producers. They are then delivered to the construction yards, where they are installed with the help of tourinfra mobil.
